With the demands of running a modern legal aid program rapidly growing and changing, the next generation of leaders at LSC-funded programs across the country must be able to anticipate change, develop innovations, and become nonprofit entrepreneurs.

LSC will support these leaders by training them to:

  • Develop and replicate best practices.
  • Serve a broad range of clients efficiently.
  • Develop business and leadership skills which will enable them to guide their programs in a changing landscape.

Biennial Conference

LSC's Biennial Conference will convene its grantee leadership to offer structured, substantive, peer-led working sessions. These sessions will highlight best practices, promote the efficient use of resources, and create a vision for how to best serve those in need.

Leadership Institute

LSC will create a Leadership Institute for 25 of its grantee executive directors to enhance leadership development and competencies in leading change, leading people, developing business acumen, and building collaborations. The participants will meet six times over the course of the program in different parts of the country to focus on one of the core leadership competencies.
